About Jorge Luis Borges
Roberto Pinto Corrêa
                                                                                                                                          28/12/10
"Jorge Luis Borges transcends history to make our world his playground.

Challenging characters to play their parts in scenarios created as a reflection of his own moral beliefs. Borges keeps alive the tradition of crossing time, as such, for the sake of literature and art."

The end of 2010 brings a surprising change to our regional politics with the creation of "Auckland super-city" under a central-left government backed by middle-aged self-discovered ecologists. Suddenly, the white-capped residents of protectionist neighbourhoods such as Titirangi in west Auckland have found themselves with far more say that they bargained for. 2011 in Auckland will begin with a council made by a Mayor and delusions of a Toronto-of-the-Pacific type of city.  more

Here are some examples of solutions cities worldwide need to adopt to ensure a sustainable future for their citizens. Without action now they risk becoming dysfunctional environments, where people face extreme deprivation, shortages of food, water and energy, and are vulnerable to floods, heat waves and other impacts of climate change.  more

I found ArtonAir.org via my new access to Monocle magazine's archives and I have been listening since. Based in New York city, the radio - AIR, Art International Radio is a non-profit Internet radio station, art gallery, free online cultural archive and media arts centre.

Producing over 500 new radio shows annually, AIR features a diverse range of programming from audio art to interviews and from music to spoken word and radio theater. AIR's Clocktower Gallery is host to a number of exhibitions, artist residencies and residency programs each year.

AIR’s archive also features historic recordings including audio from the Poetry Society of America as well as exhibitions and public programs from the Museum of Modern Art. With projects such as Living History and The Clocktower Oral History Project, the AIR Audio Archives continues its reputation as a unique cultural resource, educational tool, and historic anthology of audio recordings.  more

...Said to be happy are those who pursue ideals and conquer their space from the smallest and most simple of all things. People who are happy with their choices, and others who have learnt to enjoy theirs. If am I a difficult person when it comes to taste, I make no apologies. I have an eclectic appetite for ideas, which tends to oscillate between innovation and common sense -not in exact order. more
